As summer fades away in the land of Alpacasso the spirit of Autumn begins to appear in the forests, signalling the start of the harvest season.

Finally I am able to show you my Alpacasso “Autumn Spirit” design!  I had been waiting for just the right time to take him outside and take some photos in the fall woods and the weather was perfect today so I finally got the chance!

After making the unicorn Alpacasso I thought it would be fun to make a deer with antlers, and since I had been feeling inspired by the arrival of fall I decided to combine the two and thus this design was born. I started with a Heartful series Alpacasso but I removed the “Love Me” ribbon and added my own embellishments.  Everything is made of wool felt and recycled yarn as usual, and it is all hand-embroidered by me.  The leaves are similar to oak leaves and there is an acorn on the collar (something I always associate with autumn).  The purple flowers are just imaginary but today in the park I saw some seed husks on reeds that looked just like them so I guess they are a little more justified now ;D  The sickle moon always reminds me of the harvest time as well, so I wanted to incorporate one into the design and I thought putting it on the forehead made it seem more spirit-like.

As usual all photos and designs are credited to me so please don’t steal them!

I never approved of talkies. Silent movies were well on their way to developing an entirely new art form. It was not just pantomine, but something wonderfully expressive. —Lillian Gish (via natalietalmadge)

I remember when I thought people in their 20’s were adults. Now all of my friends are in their 20’s and everybody is just kind of fumbling around bumping into each other, trying to figure out where the free food is
